MALDEN EDUCATION ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES DONATIONS
TO MALDEN COVID-19 COMMUNITY RELIEF EFFORTS
We are proud to announce that the Malden Education Association is donating $1500 each to community organizations and funds supporting Malden during the coronavirus crisis: Bread of Life, the Pisa Pizza Pay It Forward Fund, and City Life/Vida Urbana.
These funds are sourced from the MTA Annual Meeting yearly travel expenses – as this year’s meeting in May is now virtual, the funds are no longer needed to conduct union business.
The three organizations support Malden in different, dynamic, and necessary ways. Bread of Life provides daily meals to families in need in our community. The Pisa Pizza Pay It Forward Fund has provided countless thousands of dollars in charitable contributions to Malden students and families. During the COVID-19 crisis, Pisa Pizza is feeding those in need and frontline medical workers free of charge. City Life/Vida Urbana empowers housing-insecure Malden families and renters facing eviction or dramatically raised rents. All three are helping our Malden students and families in these times of need.
In these times of crisis and uncertainty, it is more important than ever that we support others doing good in our community. Just like our community has stood with the Malden Education Association, we can stand by Malden and its residents as we stand strong and weather this crisis together.
In Solidarity,
The Malden Education Association Executive Board
